Fashion week is a world wide event, there are several fashion weeks that take place all over the
globe.

 

Two fashion events that set the standard for fashion week are Paris and New York Fashion Week, with others following closely behind them. The five main fashion show events in the world are – Paris Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and Arab Fashion Week. During a fashion show several models strut their stuff down the runway and are dressed in clothing that is designed by the particular fashion designers. While models walk down the runway, Industrial lighting is cast upon it in order for patrons to see the garments in clear lighting. Typically with designer clothing, you'll see a statement piece in each outfit, which the fashion designer wants the focal point on. This showcase’s the models and centers them while they’re strutting down the runway. When we look back into history, fashion shows have been running for centuries, fashion parades were once held by french salons in the early 1800s to illustrate their ensemble’s.

 

New York

By the 1900s several American merchants began to push the notion of a fashion show which sparked the first fashion show to be held in New York City in 1903. The next 10 years, the fashion industry started to take
off and more fashion designers were making individualistic fashion brands. Twice a year in
September and February there are a number of fashion events being held in New York City.
NYFW is part of the main 4 fashion weeks and is considerably one of the largest fashion events
in the world. NYFW normally lasts around 7 to 10 days and during this week a diverse number
of international fashion collections are presented to the public and the press.

Paris

 

Although Paris fashion week isn't as vastly known and sought-after as other fashion weeks we can't discredit
the number of remarkable fashion innovators, and top-tier models who strut down the well
known runways. One of the first prestigious Paris Fashion Week event was arranged by Mens
Fashion and Haute Couture.

 

London

Just like NYFW, London Fashion Week happens twice a year in September and February, what takes place is a clothing trade show that isn’t accessible to the public. At the end of fashion week for about 4 days there's a big event that the general public and fashion connoisseur are able to attend. In October of 1983 the British Fashion Council founded and hosted the first London fashion week.

 

Milan

Milan Fashion Week in Milan, Italy was established in 1958, the fashion showcase takes place bi-annually during the months of September and February hosted and presented by the camera Sindacale della Moda Italiana. It
is also partly supported by the non-profit organization Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana.
Milan fashion week is located in three main spaces in the city of Milan – a dedicated section of
Leonardo da Vinci National Science and Technology Museum called, Spazio Cavallerizze. Larger
houses of fashion like Prada, Gucci, and Dolce & Gabbana can be viewed at various locations
throughout the city.

Middle East

 

From October 24th to the 28th, Arab fashion week is held in the fashion capital of the Middle East, dubai. The fashion icon awards are hosted with an exclusive pink carpet gala dinner, held on October the 24th. Arab fashion just so happens to be the only worldwide fashion week to promote ready couture collections. Dubia has been home to the Arab Fashion Week since 2015, presenting some of the best designers Dubai has seen.
